Ingredients

2 lbs halibut steak

3 T butter

salt & pepper

2 garlic kernels, minced

1/2 c green onions, minced

1/2 c celery, minced

1/4 c each green, red & yellow bell pepper, minced

1 T sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

8 oz tomato sauce

1/2 c white wine

1/3 c bread crumbs

1/3 c grated parmesan cheese

Preparation

Melt butter in large skillet. Sprinkle steaks with salt and pepper, brown quickly on both sides. Combine garlic, onions, celery, peppers, oregano, salt, and pepper with tomato sauce and wine. Pour into skillet around, but not over the steaks. Sprinkle bread crumbs and cheese over tops of steaks. Bake uncovered in a 375 degree oven for 20-30 minutes until tops are browned and fish is opaque.
