Ingredients
1 Ham steak chopped into cubes
3 lg leeks, white parts only, quartered and thinly sliced
2 firm pears, chopped into cubes
1 day-old sourdough loaf chopped into cubes
Fresh Thyme
1 cup chopped parsley
Salt & Pepper
chicken broth
Preparation
Bake cubed sourdough on a cookie sheet til dried out in a 200 oven. Let cool.
Melt 1 stick butter in a saute pan and add leeks and saute til limp add ham and cook 5 min til heated through. Add thyme salt & pepper and let cool.
When ready to bake combine bread cubes to wet mixture adding pears and chicken broth to moisten. Toss with parsley and put into a buttered casserole. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes covered with foil then 10 more min uncovered
