Ingredients
2 c. water
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 Tbs. grated orange peel
3 sticks cinnamon
2 tsp. whole cloves
1 tsp. coriander seeds
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 quarts apple cider
3 Tbs. lemon juice
1 c. light rum (optional)
Preparation
Bring water, sugar, orange peel, cinnamon sticks, cloves, allspice, coriander, nutmeg in saucepan to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Poor through strainer lined with cheesecloth; place liquid in larger pot and add remaining ingredients. Serve with cinnamon sticks and slivered, orange and lemon peels (optional).
