Ingredients
2 cloves raw garlic (3 if you LOVE garlic)
1 can Garbanzo Beans (reserve liquid)
1/4 cup tahini
1/4 cup bean juice
2 Tbs Olive oil
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp onion powder
2 Tbs toasted pine nuts
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup (scant) lemon juice pulp is OK
1/2 cup of roasted Hatch Chiles, depending on heat
Preparation
Fire up the food processor and drop in ingredients in order.\I’ve tried to use less Olive oil and tahini to trim calories, and I use more bean juice to get the desired consistancy. Start tasting after the pine nuts, if you have used garlic/onion salt, you may not want any extra salt. I also add half the lemon juice, and then start tasting, I don’t like hummus too lemony, but many restaurants serve a very lemony base hummus. I make my own roasted chiles, and leave much of the innards intact, thus I have a lot of heat. add the chiles a little ata time until you reach your pain limit.
