lb. lean ground beef

medium onion, chopped

cup sliced celery

cup chopped green bell pepper

cup chopped red bell pepper

(28-oz.) can whole tomatoes, undrained, cut up

(6-oz.) can tomato paste

garlic cloves, minced

teaspoon salt

teaspoon cumin

teaspoons chili powder

teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)

teaspoon pepper

(15 1/2- or 15-oz.) cans kidney beans, drained, rinsed

Preparation

In large skillet, cook ground beef and onion until beef is thoroughly cooked. Drain.

In 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, combine ground beef, onion and all remaining ingredients; mix well.

Cover; cook on high setting for 3 to 4 hours or until thoroughly heated.
