Ingredients

1/2 cup of sweetener (Superfine Sugar or Splenda)

1 tsp bruised Dried whole herb per 1/2 cup of sweetener.

Recommended herbs can be one or any combination of the following:

Star Anise, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Clove, Nutmeg, Ginger, Vanilla Bean (1/3 bean), Fresh citrus peel (without the white pith) etc

Preparation

In a covered glass dish or jar, place the amount of sweetener desired, and bury the herb bits in the sweetener making sure they are completely covered. Stir daily for 7 days making sure to rebury the herbs. At the end of 7 days the flavoring will have spread evenly throughout the sweetener and the herbs can be removed. Store covered, in a dry cool cabinet.
