Ingredients

3 T Butter

3 Lb Russet potatoes, peeled, cut into 1/4" rounds

1 Lg white onion cut into thin rings

1 1/2 C Swiss cheese

1/2 C Chives, chopped

2 tsp Thyme, chopped

1 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp Ground pepper

1 1/4 C Half & half

Preparation

Preheat oven to 400

butter 8"x8"x2" glass baking dish with 1T butter.

Layer 1/3 of potatoes, onions, cheese, chives, thyme, salt, pepper, and butter. Repeat until all ingediants used.

Pour half and half into baking dish and cover with foil. Bake 40 minutes. Uncover and continue to bake until potaotes are tender, sauce bubles thickly and top is brown, about 15 minutes more. Let potatoes stand 10 minutes before serving.
