Ingredients
MIX Toegether in a large bowl:
4-5 big apples, cored and sliced
1 C yellow and black raisins
1 cup whole cranberries
1 cup or so of chopped walnuts
Mix togehter with
3 T melted butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 T. water
1 T lemon zest (or finely chopped peel)
1 T. orange zest (or finely chopped peel)
Mix in approximately 3-4 Tblsps of flour or more depending on the level of liquid that has formed.
Preparation
Mix above together and fill unbaked pie crust and then make a lattice to cover the top of the pie. Whisk egg and a little milk together and then brush crust and lattice with that mixture. If desired, sprinkle with decorative sugars–red and green are nice for Christmas. Bake at 350 degrees F for about 50 mins. till bubbly and brown. Cover crust edge with protecotr or foil if it is browning too quickly.
