Ingredients
8 Macintosh or other cooking apples (2 ¾ lbs.)
Peeled & cut into chunks
1 ½ cup water
¾ cup sugar
Pinch cinnamon
Preparation
Combine apples, water, sugar & cinnamon in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium low, cover & cook until water is absorbed, 20-25 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Mash with potato masher or fork. Refrigerate up to 1 week. Makes 4 ½ cups.
