Ingredients

1 can (15 oz.) garbanzo beans

1/3 c. tahini

¼ c. lemon juice

¾ c. olive oil

3 cloves garlic

¼ c. fresh cilantro, chopped

½ teaspoon turmeric

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Garnish: (optional) jalapeno, sun dried tomatoes, green or black olives, scallions, red peppers, etc.

Preparation

Put everything in the food processor or blender. Blend thoroughly, scraping down the sides as needed.

Spread it on a plate, make indention in center for garnish, drizzle olive oil over it.

Serve with warm pita bread cut into wedges.
