Ingredients

Apples - 5-6 (the more tart the better) thickly sliced

9" pie crust - 2 (one for the top and one for the bottom)frozen or home-made.

sugar - 1 1/4 cups

cinnamon - 1 Tblsp

flour - 2 Tbls

Tapioca - 1 Tbls (use the small granulated variety)

Butter - 3 melted Tbls (Indiana farmers use Real butter)

water - 1 1/2 Tbls

Preparation

In a large mixing bowl mix together the sugar, cinnamon, flour, and tapioca. Add the water and melted butter. Mix until batter becomes smooth. Fold in apple slices.

Pour into bottom crust. Place second crust on top. Cut a decorative air vent in the top crust. Place in oven and bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes, then lower the temperature to 350 for 15 minutes.

Remove pie from oven. Allow to cool on pie rack.
